How Do You Wash Printed T-Shirts?
Once you've finally chosen a design or slogan, you'll also want to know how to wash your printed T-shirt properly. After all, you don't want “No silence please” to turn into “silence please” after a few washes. That can happen even to our high-quality shirts if you ignore these tips.
1. Turn Your T-Shirt Inside Out
Our first tip sounds simple, but it can work wonders. Turn printed T-shirts inside out before putting them in the washing machine. This prevents the print from rubbing directly against other garments: only the inside of the fabric makes contact.
2. Avoid High Temperatures
To help your design last longer, wash your clothes at just 30°C. Don't put them in the tumble dryer afterwards; hang them up to air-dry instead. Excessive heat can cause the print to peel away from the fabric more quickly.
3. Avoid Harsh Chemical Cleaners
If you want to wear your printed T-shirt more than once, avoid aggressive chemical cleaning products. They can be too harsh on your chosen slogan or photo print and damage the design.
4. Iron Inside Out
Unfortunately, clothes often need ironing as well as washing. Here's one last tip: never iron directly over the print and always choose a low temperature. Turning your T-shirt inside out makes this easier, as the iron only touches the back of the printed area rather than exposing the design to direct heat.
